Sunglasses shield your eyes from the life-giving sun. They are not good for your eyes at all, except in drastic circumstances such as a bright sunny day in the snow covered mountains. Wearing sunglasses all the time can lead to photosensitivity or even photo-phobia (fear of light). Many eye specialists now warn against the excessive use of sunglasses. They say that it can cause blindness by paralyzing the eye-pupil.
If you are driving into the sunset or sunrise, use your sunglasses to reduce glare, otherwise leave them off.
